20th WOC World Orchid Conference Singapore 2011

Description: Singapore has the privilege to host the ‘Olympics of Orchids’ for the 2nd time, as the triennial international World Orchid Conference convenes in our garden city from the 13th to 20th November 2011. Based on the theme, “Where New and Old World Orchids Meet”, a spectacular array of orchid displays from all over the globe will be showcased in their full splendour at the Orchid Show at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Exhibition Complex (MBS).
A new orchid hybrid, to be named after the 20th World Orchid Conference, will also be unveiled for the first time. The 20th World Orchid Conference Executive Committee would like to cordially invite you to the Media Briefing, where key activity highlights will be showcased.
What's more, from 14 to 20 November 2011, visitors will also enjoy a sneak preview at the Flower Dome and its surrounding themed gardens at Gardens by the Bay, ahead of its official opening in June 2012. Delight in 600 sqm of orchid displays as you stroll through groves of olive trees, palms and baobabs which thrive in the Mediterranean climate.
