Naval and military enthusiasts may be thrilled to visit the Republic of Singapore Navy's Museum. It details the evolution of the navy's resources from its founding to its present-day modern force.
This museum traces the navy's origins from the Straits Settlement Royal Naval Volunteer Reserves in 1934. Housed in a pre-war army barracks which has now been remodelled to resemble a ship's interior, the museum's exhibits capture the essence of the history of the Navy to the present-day Republic of Singapore Navy. View antique marine equipment, historic photographs and details of the sophisticated missile corvettes used today.
Witness how the Navy grew from its strength of two patrol craft to today's multi-capable fleet and how it aided in significant events in Singapore's history, such as in the Malayan Emergency and the Malaysian Merger. Learn how it underwent several name changes before eventually becoming the Republic of Singapore Navy in 1975, and about its role in keeping Singapore safe today.
The museum is currently closed for renovations. View Fullscreen Map
