Visitors can observe wildlife in their original habitats, including wild otters, crocodiles, monitor lizards, kingfishers and herons in the 130-hectare large mangrove swamp catchment area, located around the Northern coast of Singapore. Gazetted as a nature reserve in 2002, Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve was later listed as Singapore’s first ASEAN Heritage Park in 2003. The Reserve is recognised globally for its unusually high variety of bird species and as an important stop-over point for migratory shorebirds escaping the winter months from North Asia and the Southern Hemisphere.
