Singaporeans are well known for their abilities to queue, as long as there is a good deal or good meal to be had at the end of the line.
Perhaps most infamously, 250 000 people queued outside a McDonald's to get the western-attired Hello Kitty wedding plush toys in 2000.
However, queuing here in Singapore also has other cultural significance. It is also an indication of which food to sample while in a food centre.
If you should be stumped for choice, simply look around the food centre and gauge which stall has the longest queue. This stall usually has the best food.
