When it comes to marathons, Singapore has been scaling new heights with more challenging tracks attracting marathon patrons from neighbouring countries and beyond Asia. In some sense, quite literally as well.
The Swissôtel Vertical Marathon is an annual 73-storey climb that takes usually takes place in mid to late November. That's a gruelling 1,336 steps race up to top of Southeast Asia's tallest hotel - Swissôtel The Standford. With flag-off starting at different times to accommodate 17 categories from men and women age group and new categories such as Nation Fighters, Swiss Tribute Challenge and Ultimate Championships for National Servicemen, the Swiss and elite runners respectively.
The seven time annual affair has attracted big names like Thomas Dold, Ben Pulham, Adrian Mok, Pedro Ribeiro and Australia's Suzanne Elizabeth Walsham and Jeremy Horne.
When the sky is your limit and your reward is an amazing view of the cityscape, this marathon is guaranteed to be a once in a lifetime experience.
A mandatory registration fee of S$50 is required for applicants.
