Shopping at Orchard Road (Orchard to Somerset)

Orchard Road Shopping Belt
(From Orchard MRT Station to Somerset MRT Station)

When Singaporeans mention Orchard Road, or even just 'shopping', they are most likely referring to the stretch of Orchard Road between two main MRT stations, Orchard and Somerset. This is the busiest and most crowded part of Orchard Road, especially in the evenings and on weekends when Singaporeans and tourists alike flock here in search of retail therapy. As Singapore's premier shopping and retail district, it is lined on both sides with shopping malls that cater to a shopaholic's every desire.

Behind its facade of volumetric pop-out glass, Paragon is going green - its aluminum panels and fritted glass are illuminated with energy-saving LED lights.

Paragon is regarded as having achieved a balance between fashion and other lifestyle pursuits such as home furnishing, sports and fitness as well as health, spa and beauty while maintaining its high-end personality. Paragon's anchor tenants are established favourites among Singaporeans - Metro hosts its only outlet along Orchard Road here, while Toys 'R' Us, Marks and Spencer and Paragon Market Place appeal to all shoppers.

The ten metre tall Mandarin Gallery storefront, with its undulating curvaceous facade and all-glass spaces, displays established brand names that can only be found here in such glory, such as Y-3, Galliano, Bread and Butter, and Mauboussin.

Its prime location on Orchard Road hosts the flagship stores and branches of  international labels including Emporio Armani, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Dolce and Gabbana, and Ashley Isham. Fans of Japanese fashion will be pleased to see the opening of A Bathing Ape - a Japanese streetwear label with its first Southeast Asian flagship store. Do check out Inhabit and Ben Wu, which are both set up by Singaporean designers.
