Asia's reigning R&B king Jay Chou will be staging a race-themed concert on Friday, 21 September at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. The Initial D star with a penchant for fast cars will be the first Chinese artiste to perform at the main stage. However, he is of course no stranger to performing here - Jay Chou's last Singapore solo show as part of his 2010 World Tour sold out three nights at the Singapore Stadium within hours of going on sale.
The following day, get ready to bring on those 'moves like Jagger' with multiple Grammy-award winner Maroon 5 as they headline the Padang stage on Saturday, 22 September at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. With magnetic frontman Adam Levine chalking up points as a coach on the hit television series The Voice, Formula One fans can look forward to an adrenaline-charged Saturday show packed with Maroon 5's greatest hits.
Also rocking the Padang stage on Saturday will be Noel Gallagher, the former lead guitarist of English band Oasis. Fans can expect a fantastic set comprising of some of the best songs from his latest album, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, as well as other classics from his time in Oasis. Gallagher will also be performing at the Village Stage at Gate 1 (Zone 1) before the Formula One race on Sunday, 23 September.
Musical icon Katy Perry will draw a close to the three days of racing and entertainment with a grand finale concert at the Padang stage in Zone 4 on Sunday, 23 September 2012. After the race champion is crowned at the podium, Katy Perry will bring the heat up a few more notches as she performs her chart-topping songs at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
To complement the stellar in-circuit entertainment line-up at the only Formula One night race, Bananarama, Pretenders and The Proclaimers will join the headline acts at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. At past F1 events, ‘80s artistes were phenomenal crowd favourites. The in-circuit concerts by Boy George, Chaka Khan, Shaggy and Rick Astley had everyone singing along to their hits, adding to the already festive vibe at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Formed in 1979, Bananarama's singer-songwriter duo Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward have been listed in the Guinness World Records as the female group with the most chart entries, having clocked a cool 30 million in record sales throughout a 33-year illustrious career. Bananarama will perform at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre in Zone 4 on Saturday, and the Village stage in Zone 1 on Sunday.
Get ready for Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Chrissie Hynde’s signature vocals as the Pretenders perform their mix of punk, new wave, rock and pop hits. Catch the Pretenders at the Village stage in Zone 1 on Saturday, and the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre in Zone 4 on Sunday.
Scottish twins Charlie and Craig Reid of the Proclaimers have seen their music featured on the hit movie Shrek as well as popular American television series Family Guy and How I Met Your Mother. Their biggest hit ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ has become an unofficial Scottish anthem and has even inspired an Internet viral sensation. The Proclaimers will be be performing at Zone 1’s Village Stage on Friday and Zone 4’s Esplanade Outdoor Theatre on Saturday and Sunday.
Fans can access the Padang concert as well as all entertainment offerings in Zone 4 with any ticket to the night race, priced from S$38 for a one-day Zone 4 Walkabout ticket.
