Ice Kachang

Ice Kachang
Pronunciation: kah-chahng

Description:
A dessert made of ice shavings topped with red and green sweet colourings and condensed milk. Below the mountain of ice, there are some red beans, sweet corn and attap chees (seeds of the attap or nipah palm). Ice Kachang is sold in most dessert stores in hawker centres and can also come with fruit cocktail, aloe vera jelly, chocolate and durian toppings.

Trivial:
You can tell if an ice kachang is good based on its shaven ice. A good ice carving would have ice so fine, it melts instantaneously in your mouth.
