Description:
The existing Saint Andrew's Cathedral was built between 1856 and 1861 as the third church, after the previous two were torn down due to lightning strikes and architectural issues. It was designed by Colonel Ronald MacPherson with a Neo-Gothic architectural style. It was said that he drew inspiration from Netley Abbey, a ruined thirteenth century church in Hampshire, England.
