Description: Somerset MRT Station (NS23) is an underground station on the North South Line of the Mass Rapid Transit in Singapore, located under [email protected] Shopping Centre between Orchard Road and Somerset Road. and Somerset Road. Somerset MRT Station was named in reference to an English playwright, novelist and short story writer, William Somerset Maugham. During his years in Singapore of the 1930s, Maugham wrote a series of stories on Malaya, Borneo and Singapore while staying at Raffles Hotel.
