The Lower Peirce Reservoir is Singapore's second oldest reservoir, built by impounding the upper Kallang River in 1912. A mature secondary rainforest lines its banks providing an oasis of tranquility, and also serve as an important shelter for many rare animal and plant species. The park area is an idyllic setting for picnics, and the trails through the rainforest offer first-hand encounters with Singapore's amazing wildlife -look out for a colugo hanging on a tree trunk.

You can take a tour starting from the dam embankment, along the reservoir banks and continues through the wilderness of the rainforest along the Lower Peirce Trail. You will finish the trail near Casuarina Road, where you can take a break at the prata shops.
