Visit Singapore

By: kimberly on 30 May 2012
Choose the best time to come to Singapore not based on the weather but, rather, by planning it around the awesome events that are happening in Singapore, of which the major events are the F1 Night Races and the Great Singapore Sale.

Singapore's weather usually does not change much over the year, except towards the end of the year and the beginning, that is, November to January, where one can expect more rainfall.

The best time to come to Singapore would largely depend on your interests. Shoppers would be delighted to visit Singapore between May and July, when the Great Singapore Sale offers shopping discounts galore.

Shops also open later during the Great Singapore Sale, so take advantage of the longer shopping hours to score some fabulous buys.

September would be another great month to visit Singapore, especially towards the end of the month where the F1 Night races will be taking place. Come to Singapore and see famous live acts perform and cheer on your favourite racing team as they strive to take pole position!

Another great time to visit Singapore would be during festive light-ups.

Different parts of Singapore are usually decorated with fairy lights and iconic figures to celebrate cultural festivals. Visit Kampong Glam and Geylang Serai to see the light-up during Hari Raya Puasa or visit Little India to see the festive light-up for Deepavali in November.

The Chinese usually celebrate Chinese New Year either in late January or early February. During this time, visit Chinatown to admire the festive light-up on the eve of Chinese New Year, or during first and second days of the new year.

The main light-up, though, occurs in the run-up to Christmas, starting from early November till the first week of January. This light-up usually starts from from the beginning of Orchard Road at the Forum Shopping Mall all the way to the end of the thoroughfare near the Plaza Singapura mall.

Each shopping mall usually decorates its mall in brightly coloured fairy lights and decorations, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Come see Singapore during the festive periods to soak up the festive atmosphere for maximum photo opportunities!
