Revisit your childhood toys and go back, if only for a while, to a time when technology was hardly as advanced as it is now, and toys were simple but still wildly engaging. Drop by the Mint Museum of Toys for a time of nostalgic fun. Short for 'Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys', the Mint Museum of Toys showcases up to 50,000 pieces of vintage toys and memorabilia that have delighted children from the mid-19 to mid-20th Century, from over more than 25 countries.

Although a toy museum, it might prove to be more enjoyable for adults than for children, as you come face to face with that special toy you once held or desired so badly. No flashy PSPs or Nintendo DS Lites here, just good old simple toys that once captured our hearts and now live on collectors' shelves. Founder and owner of Mint, Mr. Chang Yang Fa, has been collecting toys for over 30 years and 5,000 of his pieces are showcased at Mint itself.

From early mechanical toys, spinning toys to iconic characters such as Betty Boop, Mickey Mouse, Popeye, the Beatles and other equally popular Asian genres spanning over five floors, it seems like the good people at the Mint museum have left no historical era unturned. Parents, however, may need to explain to smaller kids the racist portrayal of Africans and African-Americans in toys produced in the early 20th century.

Widely known as Singapore's most successful private museum, Mint has welcomed over 140,000 visitors since its official opening in 2006. Completing the museum experience with a restaurant and a pub, the Mint Museum continually holds special programs and exhibits throughout the year.
