Explore the essential cultural elements of different cultures from around the region and the world at the Asian Civilisations Museum. Housed in a restored neo-classical colonial building dating back to 1910, the Asian Civilisations Museum (or ACM for short) functions primarily as a material collection of the different cultural groups represented in Singapore today, encompassing cultural insights from India, China, Southeast Asia and the Islamic World over three levels.

Admire the handicrafts, including Chinese porcelain figures, Chola bronzes, Javanese temple sculptures, with a highly interactive virtual tour wjich would capture the attention of both young and the old. Various special exhibitions are also conducted throughout the year. Tours are also available from Tuesday to Friday at 11am or 2pm, with an additional tour on 3:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

While others have argued that encompassing such a broad range results in a lack of depth, ACM is generally worth the time for a more comprehensive take and taste of various cultures that make up the multi-ethnic nation-state that Singapore is known as today.
