Designer Luxury Brands

When it comes to playing with the big boys, Singapore's malls are a force to be reckoned with. With a host of international brands, it's best to leave your cash at home and take your signature pen with you. Now that’s luxurious living.

Nestled in the impressive Ngee Ann City, Japanese departmental store Takashimaya is decked with six floors of international labels DKNY, Kenzo, Bally, Bulgari (or BVLGARI), Hermes, Jimmy Choo, Salvatore Ferragamo, Cartier, Pucci, Escada Sport and Jim Thompson. Ngee Ann City itself is home to boutique designer brands Alfred Dunhill, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Guess and Club Monaco.

Right next to Ngee Ann City resides another boutique shopping mall. The Mandarin Gallery was recently revamped and re-opened in 2010. Be dazzled with the likes of D&G, Mouboussin and Just Cavalli, Emporio Armani, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Montblanc. Vertu mobile phones, Bell & Ross watches and exquisite handmade chocolates from DeSte confectionery also reside in the vicinity.

Other areas in Orchard to shop for luxury brands would be ION Orchard, with brands like Bottega Veneta, Diane Von Furstenberg, Herve Leger, Miu Miu, Prada and Vivienne Tam as well as the Paragon Shopping Centre housing brands like Tod's, Burberry, Miu Miu and Prada.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store, located at Raffles City Shopping Centre and Vivo City, offers a peek of the art pieces originally based at the New York museum, affectionately known as The Met. Purchase intricately reproduced works for a fraction of the original’s price.

Newcomer Resorts World Galleria on the Sentosa island is no stranger to these up-market establishments such as Alfred Dunhill, BVLGARI, Coach, Bally, Chanel and Rolex watches, Polo Ralph Lauren, Shanghai Tang, Swarovski, and Victoria's Secret. Its companion resort, the Marina Bay Sands also offers up a delightful luxury brand shopping experience, with Coach, Longchamp, Agnés b, Hervé Leger, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Christian Dior, Chanel and even Hermès.

If you’re rushing for time, Singapore’s Changi Airport ensures that your two-hour wait would be well spent in the world’s best duty-free shopping area. Be pampered by cosmetic labels M.A.C., Bobbi Brown and Origins, fashion brands Montblanc and RAOUL, Bottega Veneta, jewellers like Tiffany & Co located in the various terminals.
