If you love to shop, then staying in the Orchard Road area would be perfect for you.

The Orchard Road area comprises roughly of two parts: the Scotts Road area and the Orchard Road area. On the Scotts Road side, the larger hotel would be the Goodwood Park Hotel, famed for its Gordon Grill and English Afternoon Tea at L'Espresso, as well as the smaller Royal Plaza on Scotts, popular with locals for its buffet spreads at Carousel.

Spend some time shopping at the DFS Galleria next to the Royal Plaza on Scotts, or cross the road and indulge in some streetwear shopping at Far East Plaza. Adjacent to Far East Plaza are two more hotels, the Grand Hyatt Singapore and the Singapore Marriott Hotel.

Further down the road is the Mandarin Orchard Hotel, which sits opposite Ngee Ann City and beside the newly opened Mandarin Gallery. Those looking for a slightly quieter retreat can find it opposite Ngee Ann City and past Paragon and the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, where the Somerset Compass Singapore and Park Hotel Clarke Quay reside.

Walk or drive down Mount Elizabeth further, with Tower 12 and Tower 14 on your right, and you'll come to another cluster of hotels, namely York Hotel, The Quincy Hotel and The Elizabeth Hotel.

For those who want to have a home away from home, with the comfort and spaciousness of an apartment, check out the serviced apartments along this stretch, namely The Ascott, which is located on Scotts Road, and Orchard Parksuites, opposite Wisma Atria for luxurious lodgings in the prime Orchard area. Nearer the Mount Elizabeth area is the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Residences and the Somerset Grand Cairnhill Singapore.

Take your pick from the range of hotels and serviced apartments available at the main shopping district of Singapore and be minutes away from indulging in retail therapy and good eats.
