If you are looking for an alternative place to stay Little India might just do the trick. Conveniently located at the end of Orchard Road and slightly off Bugis, Little India offers two- to three-star hotel accommodations, but more importantly it is deemed as a backpacker’s haven with its wide range of affordable backpacker hostels with prices as low as S$30 per night. See a different side to Singapore with the ethnic smell of spices, sights and sounds to enhance your overall stay. Housed in a row of restored shophouses, the Perak Hotel has been widely known for their personal and five-star service despite being a two-star budget hotel.

mOOn Hotel certainly lives up to its name as far as room sizes go but its quality of service, not forgetting the free cocktail sessions, certainly makes up for it. The boutique-styled Wanderlust’s quirky design and Jacuzzi will make you close an eye on their average continental breakfast spread.

Rustic on the outside but contemporary beyond its building’s age in the inside, Albert Court Hotel. Located at the beginning of Tekka Mall, Albert Court Hotel guests can maneuver around Orchard, Bugis and Little India with ease.

While most budget hotels are pretty nondescript in terms of their design or service offerings, places like Classique Hotel, Madras Hotel will be worthwhile for the no-frills traveller. Family-friendly Footprints Hostel is also located around the area, offering private rooms in various sizes, suitable for people travelling with family or a large group of friends.

Slightly off Little India, The Hive Backpackers Hostel has also made its way into the guide books, maintaining high service and cleanliness standards in both private and open dorm rooms.
