KidZania Singapore

Operating Hours:
Scheduled for completion in 2014.

A new indoor children's indoor edutainment theme park, KidZania Singapore, is set to open on Sentosa Island next year, complementing the spectrum of activities currently available on the island such as the outdoor playground Port of Lost Wonder and Palawan Beach.

Originally from Mexico, KidZania theme parks allow children aged 4 - 14 to learn about the world of adult occupations by role-playing different professions. Unlike traditional theme parks which hosts rides and arcade games, KidZania provides a kid-centric scaled down city environment in which young children get to take on adult professions through interactive learning and hands-on experience, allowing them to experience how it is to live like adults.

Upon arrival at the park, kids choose activities – such as being a fire-fighter, police officer, doctor, journalist or a customer – and earn money, which they can then spend or save. Combining role-play with real life, KidZania operates just like a real city complete with buildings, paved streets, vehicles, a functioning economy, and recognisable destinations in the form of 'establishments' sponsored and branded by leading international and local brands.

Scheduled for completion in 2014, the new Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) at Sentosa which houses KidZania will also be directly linked by a sheltered bridge to the Sentosa Express monorail, the beach carpark and a new Arrival Plaza for coaches and private vehicles.
