Start your shopping spree at Orchard Road, the main shopping belt in Singapore. Orchard Road can be divided into three main areas: the Tanglin Road area, upper end of Orchard Road from Orchard MRT station to Somerset MRT station, and the lower end of the road between Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut MRT stations.
The Tanglin area is where you'd find malls like Tanglin Mall, Forum the Shopping Mall and Far East Shopping Centre. Shop for antiques and home accessories at Tanglin Shopping Centre. Kids would love the Forum Shopping Mall, home to Toys 'R' Us, while adults can stock up on children's clothes. There are a number of tailors at Far East Shopping Centre where you can get a crisp working shirt or a blazer at reasonable prices.
The upper end of Orchard Road from Orchard MRT to Somerset MRT is easily the most crowded. This part of the shopping belt includes malls ranging from the Liat Towers to Ngee Ann City and the Heeren. At Liat Towers, fashionistas can go crazy with over the two floors of Zara clothes. Or, they can hunt down elusive Birkin bags at Hermes. Bookworms can browse happily at Borders in Wheelock Place, while Mac-lovers can check out the fantastic Apple Store on the upper floor. Luxury brands and more await at ION Orchard and Paragon Shopping Centre, while Far East Plaza and Lucky Plaza will please bargain hunters.
The lower end of Orchard Road from Somerset MRT to Dhoby Ghaut MRT now features the glitzy Orchard Central with its eleven floors of shopping and entertainment, and 313 Somerset, where the fashionable youth will go wild over the four floors of Forever 21 clothes. Behind 313 Somerset, there's Triple One Somerset, home of Singapore's first Applebees. Scrapbook fanatics can also purchase all their craft supplies at the Spotlight at Plaza Singapura, while movie buffs catch a movie at The Cathay.
